Beekeeping Taster Morning

Would you like to start keeping bees, but are not sure if it’s for you?

Join us for one of our friendly Beekeeping Taster Mornings at Endon Quarry Apiary in Kerridge, Cheshire, where we’ll introduce you to the fascinating world of honeybees and what’s involved in becoming a beekeeper.

Paul & Chloe have nearly 20 years of commercial beekeeping experience, and we love sharing our passion and knowledge with others. This relaxed morning session is perfect for anyone curious about bees and wanting to learn the basics before committing to a full day or course.

What to Expect

Our Taster sessions run from 10 am – 12 pm and 1 pm - 3 pm(approx), and combine informal theory, demonstrations, and a taste of practical beekeeping (weather permitting).

You’ll start the morning with refreshments and a short presentation covering:

The fascinating life cycle of the honeybee

What’s involved in keeping bees

Common pests and diseases

The different types of hives and equipment used

How to get started with your own colony

We’ll then head to the on-site apiary (weather allowing), where you’ll have the chance to put on a bee suit, see inside a hive, and experience the buzz of the colony up close!

At the end of the session, there’ll be plenty of time for questions and to chat about next steps if you decide you’d like to take your beekeeping further.

Location: Endon Quarry Apiary, Kerridge, Cheshire

Maximum group size: 10 people (minimum age 10)

Refreshments provided

Bee suits and gloves provided

Please bring wellies or sturdy boots, and check the weather before you come

All attendees will be asked to sign a participation declaration

Terms & Conditions

If the weather is too cold or wet for hive inspections, the practical session will be rescheduled, and the indoor session will still run as planned.

If you need to cancel your booking, please contact us at least one month before your taster morning. Please note that 25% of the course fee is non-refundable. Cancellations made less than one month before the session cannot be refunded.
